Upcoming Social Events
Hello Blades,
Warning: Long email but it's better than getting 5 separate ones:)
I wanted to let you know about a few upcoming social events. Tomorrow is our outing to Big Air. I only have about 10 swimmers committed to going. If you plan to go, please let me know, so those children aren't disappointed tomorrow. I will not be there, but there is no reservation. Just show up at 1:00 and jump with your swim friends.
Sunday, June 16th is Movie night at the clubhouse. There will be a buffet of chicken fingers, fries, cookies, and drinks. This will be a $9.00 member charge per child. I will need a headcount for this so the club knows how much food to prepare. Dinner will start around 6:00, and the movie will start around 6:30-6:45. I have not picked the movie yet, but it should be over around 8:30. This (and all social events) are open to the Guppy team too. Please let me know if your child plans to attend. Don't forget to have them wear their pjs and bring their sleeping bags and pillows.
I did not have anyone volunteer to help with Field Day next Wednesday. If no one signs up, this will have to be cancelled. Between moving my classroom and getting Divisionals organized, I just cannot take this on. I can organize food with the club. I just need someone to plan and run the games. This is usually a favorite every year, and easy because it is at the pool right after practice. Let me know if you can help.
Wednesday, June 26 is another outing to Sparetime. It would be around the same times as Big Air. Please let me know if you are interested. I will not plan it if we do not have enough people who want to go.
Finally, during Divisionals week we will have Spirit Day on Wednesday, June 10. This will be at the pool right after practice. We will have a hot dog lunch and get ready for the big meet. I hope everyone plans to swim at Divisionals. It is always a good time and the Blades usually put up a good fight. We have come away with the trophy a few times in the past few years. Pasta Pump Up will be Thursday, June 11 after the afternoon practices. The Divisional Fairy usually makes her deliveries soon after.
This week's dinner after the meet will be at Tacos and Mas on Batesville Rd. We will have a pancake breakfast and ribbon distribution Friday morning at the pool. This will start at 9:30.
I know this is a lot of information, but I did not want to send multiple emails. The social events are what makes the season even more fun. I hope to see many of you there.
Let me know if you have any questions!
Jaime Larkin
